| Kaoru Hitachiin Appearance: Kaoru have short orange hair that reaches the nape of his neck, the fringe covering his forehead and the side of his face. The back of his hair is spiked up, with a pair of golden orbs to go along with his looks. The only way to separate Kaoru from his older twin brother, Hikaru, is the way they part their hair. Kaoru's hair is parted to the right (in his own view) while Hikaru's is to the left. However, they often change their hairstyle so it's hard to grasp which twin is which. They could often be seen wearing their Ouran Acadamy's uniform, but if dress in casual wear, they always wear something designed by their Mother, who is a fashion designer. Personality: Kaoru is known to be mischievous and playful like his older brother, for their host-type is the little devil type. Although his looks are similar to Hikaru, they do have their differences. Kaoru is more gentle, and also more mature, and he often consider the thoughts of other people before he do anything unlike Hikaru who is more immature and childish, even though Hikaru is supposedly the older twin. Their differences in personality are only shown when they are apart, and there's also their slight difference in speech. Unlike Hikaru, Kaoru can express his feelings more easily and thus, making him the calmer twin. History: Ever since young, the two twins have always been alone since their parents are always busy with work. Due to that, the twins have a very deep and close emotional bond with each other. At that time, the only person that they really like was a maid working at their mansion. They were only six years old at that time, and they had already invented the "Which one is Hikaru" game. During one of the nights, they found out that the maid that they like was actually a thief, trying to crack open the secret code of their safe. They made a promise with her, saying that they'll give her the code if she will play with them the "Which one is Hikaru" game. But in the end, she betrayed them. She stole the secret code which was hidden in their piggy bank, and stole their stuff from the safe. The twins have found her when she was trying to escape, and they asked her why she broke her promise. And all she said was she can't tell them apart because they were too identical, and maybe no one will ever be able to tell them apart. With that said, she left. And the words she said was like a bomb dropped on them. They then decided to close themselves in their own world, looking down on the other students. Every time a girl gave them a love letter, they'll fool around with the girl until she cry. It was until Kaoru's and Hikaru's second year in middle school when Tamaki Suoh approached them, hoping for them to join the Host Club. They made a deal with him, the same one they made with the maid years ago. But halfway through the "Which one is Hikaru" game, they got bored and decided to quit the game. Yet it was during the next time when they fooled around with a girl's confession, Tamaki managed to identify who was who. At that time, they were pretty amazed by him, so they decided to give the Host Club a try. They slowly begin to warm up to the people around them, becoming more and more friendly unlike their middle-school selves. In the Host Club, they were known as the Little-Devils type, specializes in "brotherly-love" or "twincest", making girls falls head over toes for them. No one could tell whether were the "twincest" an act or was it genuine, but there seems to be instances where they do appear to have a genuine romance relationship as well as a platonic, brotherly one outside the Host Club. In episode 15, the two twins were found sleeping in the same bed, semi naked. So, whether was the "twincest" an act or not was still unknown, although in the later episodes they both fall for Haruhi, but Kaoru decided to give her up because he felt that his brother is more important to him, allowing his brother to chase after Haruhi instead.
